The Internet allows users to connect to networks of resources outside the library. Library patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the free Internet service. Patrons access the Internet at their own discretion. The Glen Rock Public Library cannot be held responsible for the content of the Internet.Using our computers indicates that the patron agrees to follow the library’s Internet Policy.

LIBRARY PRIVACY POLICY
The staff and Trustees of the Glen Rock Public Library recognize the need to protect library users’ right to privacy regarding questions asked and materials borrowed. The records of patron use of library resources, materials or services are confidential per the laws of the State of New Jersey and in accordance with the American Library Association’s Code of Ethics :
- N.J.S.A. 18A:73-43.2 Confidentiality of library user’s records Library records which contain the names or other personal identifying details regarding the users of libraries are confidential and shall not be disclosed except in the following circumstances:
- The records are necessary for the proper operation of the library.
- Disclosure is requested by the user; or
- Disclosure is required pursuant to a subpoena issued by a court or a court order.
- American Library Association’s Code of Ethics (1995) Section 3: ‘We protect each library user’s right to privacy and confidentiality with respect to information sought or received and resources consulted, borrowed, acquired or transmitted.”

LIBRARY PATRON BEHAVIOR POLICY
The Glen Rock Public Library Board of Trustees sets standards of acceptable behavior on Library premises to ensure an atmosphere that encourages the use and enjoyment of Library resources and services, promotes the safety of the general public and the Library staff, and protects Library materials, equipment, building and grounds.
As a limited public forum, the library is open to the public for the limited use of reading , studying , using library materials , and participating in library sponsored or library approved programs.
This policy pertains to children, youths and adults. Parents are solely responsible for the actions of their children on Library premises, whether or not a caretaker attends those children. Library staff cannot, and will not, serve as caretakers.
