BOOK DISCUSSIONS @ The Glen Rock Library
Tea and Book Talk at Two on Tuesdays:
On the 3rd Tuesday of each month we have
Tea and BookTalk at Two - a general book discussion - any book, any topic.
Neighbors: Travel the world in your backyard:
Meets on the first Monday night of
each month at 7:30pm. Glen Rock is culturally diverse. The focus of this group is the
immigrant experience in America. Common themes are why do people come to America,
what is an "American," what is "home," can you go "home" again, do the different
generations have different experiences, are the streets paved with gold, etc.
Puzzles and Games Exchange :
Bring in puzzles and games and take other puzzles and games home. The library also has a puzzle or two out at all times for people to work on when at the library.
Including Mah Jong, knitting, movies and more...
FOR LOCAL BOOK GROUPS
In addition, we offer a service to local book groups (Glen Rock has so many it's amazing - churches, schools, neighborhoods, friends). If the book group contacts us and tells us what the next book being discussed is and how many copies they need, we will do a bulkloan from area libraries. Members of the group just come in and the book is here and waiting for them.
Contact Us and let us know about your book club!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are welcome and appreciated in the Glen Rock Library. By donating their time, talent and skills, volunteers support and enhance the Library's programs and services.
Adults and children 4th grade and up are invited to stop in to fill out an application and learn about the opportunities available. Help is needed year-round for services such as shelf reading, weeding older materials, setting up displays, and making phone calls.
Please download the volunteer application
